Back in 2008, my wife almost died. Because of her health conditions, I took the leap of faith and started to write again, but let me go back a little further than that.
I got married in 2001 and stepped away from writing for several years. I went to school to get a business degree. I was almost done with my degree when my wife was hospitalized. I got up early and started studying for school the morning of before I was supposed to go to work. That was when it happened. I went in and tried to wake up my pregnant wife, but there was no response. She is a type 1 diabetic and had an extreme low blood sugar. She ended up in the hospital a little shy of three months with brain damage. During that time, she lost the baby and the doctors weren’t sure if she would be a vegetable for the rest of her life, but over time, she recovered.
After that, I returned to work, but during that time she was having a hard time managing at home. We decided I should quit my job and start writing again. Sometimes a storm in our lives will change the course of it, so here I am now with my first novel published.
My fantasy novel, “The Train Ride Home,” was released by Double Dragon Publishing this year. It was inspired by a dream I had over a decade ago. It went through several different formats to finally become a novel.
I do love to read. I have always enjoyed both fantasy and science fiction. My parents used to keep boxes of books. Occasionally I would go down and look at them, especially during the summer. I remember those nights I would stay up reading a book until three or four in the morning. I can't stay up to three in the morning anymore, but I still have fond memories of doing it.
Thanks,
