This is my first post here so please be easy on me. I am trying to find the book I read when I was young (quite a few years ago now

The storyline was like this:
There was a school for kids with extremely high IQs. The best of them mysteriously dissapear/die and when the kids actually wake up they find that they no longer have bodies but their brains are fully functional and linked to a super computer....
I am not sure if it called something like spider or brains or something. Can anyone help me find the name of the novel?
