this book has 15OO pages and I just finished the "Fantine" section
this first part is GREAT i realy enjoyed IT

the story is so real to the reader
Everyone should at least read this first section

details:
Fantine is this poor struggling mother forced to give up her child
Jean Valjean is a poor man who trys to steal a loaf of bread for his family and gets locked up for it
The setting is in the early 1800's

it's a great read

no but I have seen the concert
the caracters sang the whole thing

well, not the "whole" thing
that would take a millenium

Did you like it? We live too far away from any main centres to see things like this.

Well, I must duck my head and confess to reading the abridged version- if I recall correctly, though, I was only 13 when I read it, though. Quite good book, indeed.
