Hi All,
I just acquired a collection of books. I haven't been through them yet, but three old educational books were on top and caught my eye.
I know these books have some value, but just haven't had the time to properly check them out. Inasmuch as I'm not a bookseller, I don't really
have the knowledge to check out values. Thought you folks might help.
Unfortunately, none of these books are in excellent condition. They look like they were used most of the time since publication, lol.
"Graded Lessons in English" by Reed and Kellog,
1909. It was first copywrighted in 1889, but the
forward on this book is dated July1, 1909. I
don't know how to "grade" these books, but if it
were a current book, I'd give it mo more than a
5, but considering it's age, it may be much
higher.
Next best is the "Beacon Second Reader" by
James H Fassettm 1914. It's in "almost" as
good a condition as the one above, but has an
opening at the front corner where it attaches to
the book end. Still firmly attached, so it is just
the "skin" that is open.
Even the Fourth Reader, Harriet Taylor Treadwell
and Margaret Free, both educators, 1913 by Row,
Peterson and company.
It's still all together and intact, but it certainly
shows heavy usage. It has a signature by
someone from Lansing, Mich dated 1919.
Any advice or information will be sincerely appreciated.
Regards,
Jim
