What Is Hollywood So Afraid Of/Harassment

Hello everyone.

So my question is an odd one and its needs some explaining so here I go. I am the author of [a novel], which is based on interviews I have done with former and present reality television employees in Los Angeles.

I wrote the book as a novel based on the stories and personal experiences that I was told about during my interviews. I am not naming a single show in the book, nor am I naming any judges, contestants, or hosts either.

Over the last month or so not only have I been harassed, but also my publisher. Examples of the harassment are as follows.

*Numerous letters from the production companies behind the biggest reality shows telling us that we can't put the book out and that if we do we will we need to watch ourselves at all times

*At least 10 "caller unknown" phone calls a day, never leaving a message

*Numerous phone calls from the head of security behind some of the biggest reality show. Again never leaving a message.

*Threats via the books myspace page telling us things along the lines of "were coming to get you", etc..

Obviously people in Hollywood are very, very scared about what might be revealed in the book. Granted it's scandalous, but again no show or person is named in the book.

I've released 1 excerpt from the book a couple weeks ago and since then the harassment has increased. The book isn't even out yet and won't be until mid Dec. Due to overwhelming interest in the book the publisher decided to make it available through their online store for pre-order and once they did the phone calls, etc... increased for them.

My lawyer has told me that I am in the clear as long as I am not naming any shows or actual people, which I am not.

Has this happened to anyone else?

Any suggestions on what I should do?

You hear all these comedians directly name reality show judges and talk about the drug rumors in their act, but they don't get in trouble and continue to talk about it, yet I am being harassed like crazy about this book, which doesn't even name anyone or anything.

I just find the whole thing very odd and very frustrating.

Anyone have any advice?

I know this posting is long and I do apologize, but I wanted to explain everything.

Thanks for listening and any advice, suggestions, etc... would be greatly appreciated.
