Access VBA Programming for Dummies.
I liked it very much - highly informative - even for non-dummies.
Book before that - Conspiracy of Paper by David Liss. I also liked it - excellent descriptions and language, likeable characters and well done - but the plot was a little contrived and a bit too long.
Currently reading - Build Your Own Database Driven Website Using PHP & MYSQL. I'll let you know about that one. Non-programmers may not find much in it of interest, though.
I just finished Forever by Pete Hamill. I thought it was a great book. It's a historical fiction with a little fantasy in it and I thought it worked really well. I wrote a post about it on my blog if you want to know more about it.
I've just finished Looking Good Dead by Peter James.
Horror is usually my preferred genre but I quite enjoyed reading this crime novel. It's part of The Roy Grace series, Dead Simple being the first part and also a good read
I know, I know.... I have joined a reading group which is going to do the third volume of Remembrance of Things Past this fall. I need to catch up so I read Swann's Way in June and need to read the next one by September.
Has anyone else here read Proust? I always thought that I should (sometime) and now, after 300+ pages, I still don't know what I think of it. It just flows along like pleasant, somewhat monotonous music, with just a little riff here and there which gets your attention.
As the links posted by Libra6Poe show, we try to discourage this type of thread. They do not tend to generate much discussion of the actual books and you end up with a incredibly long thread which no one will search through for recommendations.
If you have just finished a book that you liked why not start a thread about it? I am sure others will join in to discuss the book - if you do a search you may find that the book has already been discussed at some point and you could add your thoughts to that thread
