Where or how is your favorite way to buy a book?

Online,
book stores,
ebay or
thrift store
garage sales?

I prefer to steal them from my grandma.

I do a little bit of everything I suppose. I prefer to buy off of amazon as the prices are cheaper than what any brick and mortar business can offer. I do the used bookstore thing once in awhile, though the selection isn't always the greatest. If I'm in a mood for anything other than the classics, I'm pretty much out of luck where I live. Can't say that I've gone the ebay route-would be interesting to hear from those who have.

If I'm planning on buying a lot of books, I go to a flea market. It's just so much cheaper to buy them there. Once I even found the Complete Works of Shakespeare for $3.00. Eek. (The copy in question is now, of course, sitting on one of my crowded bookshelves.)

Usually I go to Border's or another bookstore. I like to sit in the cafe section and read books even when I don't have the money to buy them. So it's very easy for me to spend four hours in a bookstore.

But sometimes you just can't find things at Border's, or they're cheaper elsewhere, and that is what Amazon is for. I typically go there only to read reviews of books, though.

So yeah, I do a little bit of everything, but I guess I mostly like to be able to flip through the book right there and know what I'm paying for.

Ebay and stores...

85% from Ebay, because most brand new books can be bought and posted for cheaper than in stores
