Books of Life, Character and Values

I am to keep a journal from this day September 3 until December 3 on life, character and values that I learned within this time frame. I can't get myself to write so I need some books to inspire me.

And I am to pass a paper still on the same subjects--life, good character and values next friday so I need as must reference as I can get. Please include inspirational books.

As for the journal, I am checking books by Coelho and Albom (Tuesdays with Morrie). Please do suggest more.

Almost any book worth taking seriously - except maybe science and technical stuff - is about life, good (and bad) character and values. Why not go back to some of the reading you have already enjoyed or admired and look for the evidence of l, g c and v.

You can also find inspiration in the daily newspaper or Time magazine or news on the Internet. L, g c and v are all over the place, or seriously missing. If you want to impress an instructor (what level?) you might try some of the school standards like The Autobiography of Ben Franklin or The Scarlet Letter or Adventures of Huckleberry Finn or Pride and Prejudice or David Copperfield or ....

There are no short cuts.

Well said... I reached to this conclusion not long ago, and fully agree with you.:)

keansign,
If you want, you can share your journal here on the forum, as I believe some peopel would be interested to read it. Maybe this will make you more interested to write  You can use the blog.

Character and value Book Recommendation

Hi keansign. I'm currently enjoying a daily read that has helped me wrap my head around the person from whom a lot of today's moral, ethical, religious, character & even political debates seem to stem---the person of Jesus. The book has 31 chapters (enough for a month's worth of daily reading) and so far, each chapter begins with a real life story (some personal and some historical) that applies to some aspect of Him. The author is helping me see and understand this "figure" through a different lens...as a person just like me...not as a hidden agenda or something someone is trying to shove down my throat...and has caused me to examine my current mindset. I definitely recommend it especially if you are exploring books of values and character. I got mine on Amazon. If you are interested, it's called "Windows into the Heart of God: 31 Life Changing Glimpses of Jesus" and the author is Preston Parrish. If you check it out, I'd be interested to know what you think. Peace.
