The books on BOM are really out of my historical fiction reading genre,but I do enjoy something different every now and then.

I'm not really interested in Nabokov enough to read the book as a whole. He apparently liked to pose and solve various chess problems though and a central part of the plot in The Yiddish Policemen's Union is based on one of his problems.

Honestly I'm having a hard time getting into it. I'm so busy with other things right now that the only way I can get through a book is if I'm so involved I can't put it down and it's just not that kind of book for me. But I do love the eccentricity and tone - I can see why it's considered a classic.

Sorry for the late reply (don't check by here often).

I'd say its fairly good if you're into science fiction and wouldn't mind some philosophy mixed in.

if you find the first few chapters off-putting, you could probably skip to chapter 4 or 5, you wouldn't miss any huge plot points. After that it starts to pick up, and if you don't mind some scientific inaccuracies from the 1930s, I'd say its a good read.

not much work alot, to save money to travel. but last night went out drinking and some fuckin idiots were trying to force two young pitbulls into a fight in a parking lot. so once they went inside we grabbed the dogs and left heh. chill ass dog sleeping on my floor right now
