    C.J. Sansom: Dark Fire

This is a good book. It's always nice to read something different, and crime in historical England is definitely something new to read. Matthew Shardlake is an interesting, flawed protagonist.

Conn Iggulden: The Gates Of Rome

    Philip Pullman: His Dark Materials

This is a top series. My favorite is The Subtle Knife. The darkest and most adventurous of them all. The movie was just a fast-forwarded version of Northern Lights.

Does inaccurate historical facts affect your enjoyment of historical fiction?

I guess you must be considering this after Elizabeth: The Golden Age released. :) Personally I think as long as the fiction is engaging, it doesnt matter if the historical facts are inaccurate (although if they are blatantly neglected I might disagree). The Da Vinci Code is a good example...

Dan Brown: The Da Vinci Code

Actually the movie brought a lot of clarity to the book. Especially the final scene which explains things so well. Agreed though, you need to read the book first before watching the film

Who is your favourite author, and why?

My favorite author would be JRR Tolkein Books are a great stimulant for my imagination and enable me to visualise situations. Personally, of the authors I've read, Tolkein is exceptionally good at enabling the reader to visualise himself/herself in a setting that is described. As a nature...

    Sidney Sheldon

One of the most thrilling writers I've had the pleasure to read. The words that come to my mind are absorbing and intriguing. Moreover, the climaxes of most of his books are astonishing. List of books The Naked Face A Stranger In The Mirror Rage of Angels If Tomorrow Comes The...

Dan Brown: The Da Vinci Code

Both The Da Vinci Code and Angels and Demons were great novels, with my preference being Angels and Demons. I just loved the last third of Angels and Demons. Very dramatic and lots of twists. The carmalengo is one of my all-time favorite characters. Liked Da Vinci Code movie too. Ian...

J.R.R. Tolkien: The Lord Of The Rings

For me-LOTR is one book. It is mentioned by Tolkein at the beginning where he wanted to make a really long tale. Favorite Book-Two Towers. Theres so much going on here, with Gandalf's return, the Three Hunters's pursuit of the kidnapped hobbits, Theoden's restoration to an active king...
