Hi folks,
has anyone yet read "Cobweb" by Neal Stephenson and [name forgotten]?
Sounds mildly intersting from the cover text but not enough to buy blind.

Sammy, you being in Sweden it might be that you're looking for the second COQ Rouge Story (den demokratiske teroristen) by Jan Guillou.
CoQ Rouge (the swedish agent) infiltrates a German Terrorist Cell in Hamburg.
maybe?!
Well, Harry Potter is out for the same obvious reason that LotR is out ;)
I'm certain there must be short callnames that are suitable for a cat.
Sadly I'm coming no further than "Nighteyes" (the wolf from the Farseer trilogy)
We are currently on the lookout for a name for our soon-to-come new cat.
Somehow we'd like to leave the beaten path of "normal" cats names behind us and thought maybe there's a nice character name from a fantasy (or sci-fi?) novel. Maybe you guys have some neat suggestions?
[Disclaimer: Lord...
Finished it just now. It was ok, kind of an entertaining no-brainer which gets probably better by the degree that you are immersed into the geeky fandom that is portrayed in the book.
I've never watched/read Red Dwarf and am not the slightest interested in it. This book, I bought for its promising story: A fun read about a near future Europe where incompetence in the job doesn't get you fired (after all, it's not your fault that you're incompetent, is it?).
The "hero" (one...
I'm currently reading "Incomeptence" by Red Dwarf Scribe Rob Grant. The book has nothing to do with Red Dwarf and is immensely funny. I get the weird looks wile riding the bus since I have to almost continuously laugh, snigger, crack up or plain laugh out loud.
58 are currently on my actual TBR-Pile. There are certainly more which are already stowed away in the right place in my shelves, I'm too lazy to count those.
While I'm always trying to decrease the pile in zize, it constantly grows. Will be in London for a weekend in 2 Months -> More books on...
Well, I don't really mind either way. I've come to really like the Farseer/Liveship lands and I am positive there is still way for new exciting adventures. But I am also intrigued by the "new world". Here's hoping that the supposed length of 400 pages is a joke ;)
:D
Sorry, sometimes even I need to behave like a "fanboy".
June/July is the scheduled release Month for the new Robin Hobb Novel "Shaman's Crossing", first part of - again - a trilogy. This is NOT set in the world that was the basis for the Farseer, Liveship and Tawny Man trilogy.
Got both Legends I+II (Hardcover - niccccceeee  ) So far only read The happiest Dead Boy in the World (Otherland-Related / Tad Williams) next will be Robin Hobb, Tad Williams again, and Neil Gaiman. The rest will be new territory as I haven't read the original Art which inspired the short...
Yes, I can second that. read "Marilyn Monroe" by Liz Evans and was quite amused. Not quite as good as Evanovich but enteratining, silly fun nonetheless...

As always when it needds to be HILARIOUS (in caps) no way around Tom Sharpe's "Riotous Assembly" and it's predecessor (name escapes me right now).
Partly very OTT is Tim Dorsey (try Florida Roadkill + Hammerhead Ranch Motel)
Dave barry's Big Trouble - Great fun
A second vote for Robert...
Me (also being male), I also enjoy the Stef Plum novels 8even though the latter ones are getting more and more overblown while the first in the series where - while funny - still kind of down to eart-ish.
There's 10 regular Books of the series out there and the 11th is last year's Xmas...
I don't think the "People who bought..." feature is phony. It's one of the simplest uses for datamining. I have programmed something like that myself for my employer's Online-Shop. It's simply math.
But (!) it is stupid since it only uses numbers and is not programmed in any way to "see" where...
