Time travel

I did like The Door Into Summer. Now I am reading Curious Notions by Harry Turtledove. In that book, earth has developed a machine that make travel possible between timelines. The story takes place in a timeline where Germany won WWI.
 
'The Door into Summer' is probably the Heinlein novel that I've enjoyed the least. I did like the nudists though.

'By His Bootstraps' is a short story by Heinlein that focus on time travel. It can be found in the short story collection titled 'The Menace from Earth'.

There's also some time travel involved in Heinlein's 'Time Enough for Love'.

If you like Turtledove, I would also suggest Guns of the South . It is about a group of guys who go back in time to help the south win the civil war with modern day weapons.

I've read the Time Travellers and really enjoyed it once I got used to the layout - hopping from one time to another. It was interesting to read along and see how the time-slips played out - how they were connected.

I also enjoy Barbara Erskine's books. They are not specifically about time travel but you do get to cross timelines. They involve characters from the past and present. From English kings, Romans and Druids to ancient egypt. I guess if you're interested in history you'll enjoy these. They probably fall into the supernatural genre.
 
Short story by Ray Bradbury, "Sound of Thunder" is also being made into a movie ... not sure which collection it's in ... about hunting dinosaurs and time paradox.

"1632" by Eric Flint. A small town in West Virginia at the end of the twentieth century is transported to Europe in 1632. This is a stand-alone story, but it sold so well there is now a series. 1633 and 1634 have been published.
 
I just started reading 1632. It's a bit violent for my tastes, but the concept is fascinating, so I'll keep reading.
 
What about the Outlander trilogy by Diana Gabaldon? I've just finished the first book and I absolutely /loved/ it.

It begins with Outlander / Cross Stitch (depending on where you live).
