Need book suggestions for a sister...

The problem with a lot of books in the self-help/inspiration genre is they rely on God. Fair enough, many people find help and inspiration through religion. But for those that who are not religious but looking for hope are left out. Maybe it's the religious telling us for the umpteenth time...

    Current Non-Fiction reads

Last non-fiction read was Freakonomics. Meh. Next is either going to be Fast Food Nation or a history book called For Honour's Sake about the War of 1812. Apparently the Canadians did not win as definitively as we thought we did and the Americans have it wrong because they have most of...

I've become obsessed with Pynchon. Considering I haven't read any of his novels it's ridiculous. Today I picked up V. and Vineland used but in decent condition for just less than $12 for the pair of trade paperbacks.

What books have you read more than once?

I don't re-read very often because there are so many great books that I already haven't read. One day I'll start re-reading but my priority is read as much as I can.

    Recently Purchased/Borrowed

Fury by Salman Rushdie. There is a small book distributor near me which deals mostly in remainders. Nearly exclusively in fact. Every few weeks they open their doors for a weeekend and do a warehouse sale type thing. Usually there are only mass markets that aren't stripped. I rarely find...
