You're Lolita!
by Vladimir Nabokov
Considered by most to be depraved and immoral, you are obsessed with sex. What really tantalizes you is that which deviates from societal standards in every way, though you admit that this probably isn't the best and you're not sure what causes this desire...
I remember reading that... really boring but I made it all the way through. I was determined to get all the way through... looking back I don't think it was worth it. :o :p
I'm not quite sure what Motokid is getting at with the can of worms... but..
As a child I was never really encouraged to read. I came across some books that I fell in love with on my own when I was in primary school and I really got myself started. It was mainly borrowing from the public and...
I read Knots and Crosses a few months back. The reason I bought it was that it was in a charity shop cheap and I think I got Ian Rankin confused with Iain Banks  ... For me it was a good book and I'll keep a look out for the next ones if they're cheap, but I don't think I'd buy them...
This weekends charity shop buys...
The Hobbit - Tolkien
Coma - Robin Cook
Salem's Lot - Stephen King
Cujo - Stephen King
The Magic Cottage - James Herbert
The Virgin Suicides - Jeffrey Eugenides
Dracula - Bram Stoker
And a League of Gentlemen book :D
Still recovering from my last...
Spooky
You should think about giving Anne of Green Gables another chance. The first few chapters were extremely boring but the rest of the book is quite good. Although I can't say I'm going to gave Wuthering Heights another chance because it was just boring. :p
Only once so far have I done that. It was Wuthering Heights, maybe one day I'll go back to it but for now I'll pass. Almost put down Lord of the Rings but made myself continue. Also almost put down Anne of Green Gables a few years ago, but since I had nothing else to read I read it all and as it...
True, but I can usually find what I'm looking for in Ottakars or WHSmith where I live or if I get desperate I take a train up to Glasgow to Borders. Although I probably will have trouble when I'm looking for older or less popular books, but thats just the way it goes.
I think I prefer going to big book stores like Ottakars and Borders when I know what I'm looking for, like Garth Nix books or the Darren Shan Saga. I love the new book smell and most likely won't lend these books to anyone, especially someone who folds the covers under ( why, why would you...
Yes, if you take a look at the site I posted earlier in this topic and click the Old Kingdom it'll take you to the books and there should be the new book in the selection.
As I suspected... theres going to be another Old Kingdom book! Its going to be called The Creature in the Case and is going to take place about six months after Abhorsen! :D
I recently made "read" and "to read" lists. The read one about 80, although sadly I've forgotten some of the names of some. My to read list is currently 57 books long, most I still need to buy... heres my pile I've got to read over the next month or so..
The Queen of the Damned - Anne Rice...
I think I first saw the movie a few years back (think I was 12 or something) and I liked it. Haven't seen it in about a year so I can't remember much of it (I'm forgetful sometimes). Have make the effort to find the book...
