If your in England on channel 5 I notice they still show The Clangers and Bagpuss.

For people who don't know The Clangers and Bagpuss, they are children shows, probably made before I was born ;) Thats the reason why I am a little suprised that they still show these two children shows since they are very old.

Bagpuss!!!!!! The Clangers!!!!! :D :D
Yes, its great to see another huge fan of them ;)

Only problem is these two children shows are on at about 6am in the morning so...sod that! I'm not that much of a huge fan of them :p

Me neither! I can't even be bothered to set the video! :) I did that once for Roobarb and Custard, but when I watched it I was very disappointed, I didn't find it very good at all. Maybe I should leave them in the rose-tinted haze of nostalgia! :D

You've never heard of them?! Ell, you have had a deprived childhood! :)

They are all children's TV programmes from the 1970s, which aired on UK TV, and are fondly remembered by many 30-something adults!

Clangers = Puppet creatures which lived in holes covered by dustbin lids on a planet. They were knitted, the sets consisted of lots of aluminium foil, they spoke in whistles, and there was a Soup Dragon. Maybe you shouldn't have asked. :D

Bagpuss = a cat soft toy. There was a little girl called Emily, and it was set in a toy shop. The toys came to life, and there were mice on the 'mouse organ', a scholarly wooden woodpecker called Professor Yaffle, a rag doll, and I can't remember anything else.

Roobarb and Custard = a cartoon with a cat and a dog. Just to confuse things, the dog (Roobarb) was yellow ie custard colour, and the cat Custard was pink (rhubarb colour). The animation was weird and flickery, but it was cool. There was a voice-over by some British man, possibly Richard Briers (?).

Oh well, you had to be there I think! :D

Oh my gosh, Roobarb and Custard, I remember them! I watched them and I used to read the books of them too.

Arghhh, now I've got that awful theme music from Rhubarb and Custard stuck in my head. I bet it stays there all day now. :D
