I'm incapable of giving away books. When I lived in Ontario I don't think my wife realized how many books I actually had, until we moved home and we got the stuff (pretty much an entire apartment) out of my parents basement. She kept looking at me and saying "more BOOKS?!" I can't let them...
Oh good dog! Yes, lets teach the teenages that reading about sex is bad and dirty. Because, you know what? Most teenages dont have enough to worry about, they don't have enough problems to discuss with there therapists in ten years. Lets add to them.
this has, quite possibly, been the worst day I've had since I started at the bank. First of all, we had training all day, and the trainer gave us two ten minute breaks. NOT enough time to eat lunch, I would have much rather had my fifteen. I ended up taking my Michelina's bowl out of the...
I think this entire thing has gotten a little out of hand. I realize I'm a n00b, but it seems a little rediculous. Can't we all just get along? *sticks a daisy in someone's water gun*
Seriously though, I would love to be able to discuss a book I enjoyed with the author.
It really really is, I've been very impressed. I wasn't all the crazy about her first novel, but when MonkeyCatcher mentioned that she was reading it I remembered that I had wanted to read "The Way the Crow Flies". I think after this, I may have to give "Fall On Your Knees" a second look, I...
So I went to a discount book outlet store today and bought
"The Only Good Thing Anyone Has Ever Done" by Sandra Newman
"Rare Birds" by Edward Riche.
I've never heard of either of them, but they caught my eye and were both 4-5 bucks. Gotta love that!
you're right it does look blue. She's the short one with the long hair and the pants. I"m in the skirt and poncho (the poncho was not a planned part of the outfit, I wish I hadn't had to wear it)
My Life by Bill Clinton
Lost Continent: Travels in Small Town America by Bill Bryson
The Mysterious Flame of Queen Loanna by Umberto Eco
Delta of Venus by Anais Nin
Tuesdays with Morrie by Mitch Albom
good thread!
That's ok, the library will come through for me. In the meantime I"ve got like 8 books checked out that I need to read! I'm kind of liking the anticipation!
Monkey, it was a small park about a mile from our apartment. You can't tell from the pictures but it was POURING rain throughout the entire ceremony, turning into a downpour just as we were signing our lives away....i mean the certificate! You also can't tell that we got married barefoot! We...
thanks Dire. I think it will be the next book I read, though I may have to intersperse some Bill Bryson in there as well, not sure if Clinton will be able to hold my interest completely for 1000 or so pages.
I'm about 480 pages into this book and it's grabbed me in a way no book has in a long time. I'm dying to talk about it! Has anyone else read it? Judging from what I've read so far, I'm finding it to be a much easier read than MacDonald's previous work, "Fall on Your Knees" which won the 2000...
