Someone I admire. Hmmm, someone sciency perhaps since I don't have a leaning in that direction. Stephen Hawking?
Maybe someone INfamous would be better. David Koresh have a biography?
Peter Sutcliffe? The name is not ringing a bell. What did he do?
I've just been invited to attend a book club with some other teachers and I'm kind of stoked. The suggestion for this month is a biography. I'm stumped. I don't read biographies, or autobiographies and just haven't a clue what I should read.
Anyone read one that is wonderful lately? I could...
OK, I'm one of those weirdos who has several books on the go at any one time. Got one beside the tub, one in progress on the Kindle, one in my "work" bag, and one from the library that has to get back in a day or so. That one gets priority. I'm not always like this, but more often than not I am...
Hunger Games
I know this is currently the thing to read. I have the first one on my Kindle (saving it for the beach).
I'd like to hear if those who've read them think I'm going to be sorry I didn't get the second and third ones to take with me to Mexico. I have LOTS to read on the Kindle...
You made me snort my coffee! That hurts! I read all the Twilight books, and they were a pleasant diversion, but as you say, hardly literature. I'm definitely on the Harry Potter side of the debate (MLIA).
The Five People You Meet In Heaven - Mitch Albom
The Time Traveler's Wife, by Audrey Niffenegger
One Hundred Years of Solitude, by Gabriel García Márquez
All three of those are on my must read list.
I read everything. I love the classics, but I think there is a place for all literature. When I'm talking to an adolescent who says they don't read because its all "boring" I'll start them wherever I can. Comic book, harlequin, whatever.
Someone JUST recommended this to me and I'm excited to read it. Its supposed to be in at the library tomorrow. Same guy suggested the Four Agreements to me as well. I haven't searched that out yet.
Just signed up! I've been a member at another Social Knowledge forum for a long time, and just found this lovely spot. I'm an avid reader, and I just got a Kindle on my birthday! Woohoo! I'm having fun getting all the freebies downloaded.
