I tend to re-read novels when I feel I haven't fully understood or have missed something, I find it gives me greater understanding, but I do agree, there are so many books out there I want to read and haven't yet done so!
Haha, fair enough, was just curious :) Well done on reading the letters and journals... heavy duty stuff! I own the journals but have yet to make my way through them. My interest in Plath has been greatly aided by having an expert lecturer who can throw light on even the most complicated Plath...
Out of interest, which biography did you read? I agree, reading a biography beforehand really helps you get the full grasp of the autobiographical nature of the novel. I read Bitter Fame by Anne Stevenson, a notoriously anti-Plath biography, but despite this I still think Plath is wonderful!

I am in Toronto, on the patio of the Park Plaza Hotel Roof Garden sipping a Manhattan with a strangely attractive, somewhat older Hungarian art teacher....
I'd really like to read something by Mikhail Bulgakov. I have a copy of Master and Margarita that I've tried to get into several times and failed - not because it's not interesting, the language and descriptions are fantastic but possibly a little dense (maybe the translation I'm reading?). One...
I realise that the original post of this thread is quite old now, but I found Daisy Goodwin's anthologies to be an excellent way in to poetry.
I have 101 Poems to Get You Through the Day (and Night) which was a gift from my parents before my second year at university. Goodwin splits the poems...
