Maybe try the Legend series by Marie Lu? It has good reviews. You could also try doing a search for "Dystopian" - there might be some series that come up that would be of interest to you.
DATo! We've missed you!! Thank you for the recommendation - the Spellman Files books look fun! I just put the 1st & 2nd ones on hold at the library. :)
I have yet to read any Voltaire....seeing as you have read this title 2 times before, would you suggest Candide as a good place to start?
I guess we should take into account that different countries have different holidays. I am obviously operating from a US viewpoint. Regardless of what holidays are when, are we okay choosing something somewhat spooky for October?
So far, our suggestions seem to be:
Mr. B. Gone by Clive...
Welcome, Muhammed! I've moved your thread to the "promotion" area because we like to keep book promotion separate from member introductions, but we are happy you are here!
Best wishes for the success of your book and congratulations on the completion of a dream!
Just finished reading The Unbearable Book Club for Unsinkable Girls by Julie Schumacher. I enjoyed the reference to other books I haven't read but am interested in reading now, and the story was okay - it kept my interest - but definitely not a favorite read.
I love series, because then I don't have to say goodbye to the story/characters as quickly!.....Series can be super frustrating for me though if I start reading them before the author has completed the whole set. And yes, I always read in ORDER (& do not read the last chapter first, lol -...
I'm sorry I haven't read it, but it always has incredibly high ratings in reviews. You can check it out on goodreads: https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/234225.Dune?from_search=true
It sounds like there's more there than politics...
Sounds slightly similar to "Wolf of Wall Street", but that broker starts out as a straight arrow, so I doubt that's what you're looking for....Anyone else have any ideas?
I think it would be "too many bookcases" if they hinder your ability to walk through your house - or if some of the bookcases are blocking access to other bookcases. ;)
Should we choose a horror book as the Book of the Month selection for October...
