Neither of those sound ideal.....I think I'd pick the melt-down over an evil organization though.... Same.

Looking for fiction recommendations w/strong female lead - clean w/no violence or mental illness

Those are difficult criteria to fill..... :) I think most of the books I've read have had some violence, cruelty, or war ....or some degree of mental illness. Maybe try Miss Spitfire - historical fiction about Helen Keller's teacher....pretty predictable though I suppose you could try a...

    Book recommendations... please.

Hi, simplyshelb! I haven't, personally, read any of those books, but I second the recommendation to check reviews on Amazon. Another place you may want to look is goodreads.com. I've heard good things about Eleanor & Park. :) Let us know what you decide & how you like them! I may also...

Would you recommend reading The Bees by Laline Paull?

Hi, Taffboy. I'm not finding that book/author....I did find Bee by Claire Preston....is that the one you mean? There are mixed reviews on goodreads, but it seems to be mostly viewed positively .... https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/2023606.Bee?from_search=true

    Children and Young Adults

I'd say young adults are older teens or younger 20's. Those just entering adult-hood. I enjoy "Young Adult" literature, though I would no longer be considered a young adult myself. The emotions are high, the situations are often intense, the subject matter is more serious than...

Fancy casual. :) I like to look nice, but it's no fun if i'm not somewhat comfortable. If you didn't have to wear shoes in public, would you still wear them?

    BOTM Themes & Suggestions

I actually think it's nice when at least one member of a reading group has previously read a book and can highly recommend it to the others. Then you have someone you can talk to at each point of the book as well - even if everyone else isn't caught up yet. :)

    SuperReaderGirl's Book Thoughts

I don't typically review books I haven't finished, but may make a note of what I didn't like and why the book didn't seem like a great fit for me.

    YA suggestions

Welcome, Bella! I'll definitely have some recommendations for you later, but was just popping in for a minute and am heading back out (running a school book fair at the moment). You might want to check out Delirium by Lauren Oliver. I only read the first, but found it hard to put down. Also...
