YA suggestions

I haven't read a book from cover to cover in over a year now. I could really use some help finding a good one to get me back into it. What I'm looking for is a young adult novel, the first in a series or stand-alone. I'm a fan of fantasy, adventure, science fiction and/or dystopian, but I'm not picky as long as the story is good.

Some of my favorites:
The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins
Life as We Knew It by Susan Beth Pfeffer
The Maze Runner by James Dashner
Divergent by Veronica Roth
Harry Potter by JK Rowling

Thanks in advance.

Welcome, Bella! I'll definitely have some recommendations for you later, but was just popping in for a minute and am heading back out (running a school book fair at the moment).

You might want to check out Delirium by Lauren Oliver. I only read the first, but found it hard to put down. Also Nightshade by Andrea Cremer. I read a lot of YA, so will have more for you. :)

Divergent by Veronica Roth
Ooh, what did you think about this series? I nearly picked up a copy of this today but wasn't entirely sure it was my kind of thing. Although saying that I said the same thing about The Hunger Games and dilly-dallied over reading that for months and then when I finally did read it, I really enjoyed it, so maybe I should take a chance on Divergent.

Thank you for the suggestions! Delirium sounds particularly interesting to me, but I'll definitely check them both out.

Divergent is surprisingly good! It has a faced-paced story like The Hunger Games, but they aren't so much alike that I felt like I was reading the same book. It would be hard for me to decide which world I actually enjoyed more. If anything, though, I think the characters in Divergent are fleshed out more. I would absolutely recommend it.

Thanks Bella. I think I will take a chance on Divergent after all, although when that will actually be remains to be seen as I have quite a few others to read first.

The Immortal Rules by Julie Kagawa is good. Its about a post-apocalyptic dystopian society where a virus has turned over half the population in 'Rabids' (Ravenous monsters) and the remaining humans are enslaved under the rule of vampires in walled cities where they are kept as cattle for the vampires to feed on.
Now, I know what you're thinking "Another vampire novel, really?" But trust me it is a great book. The characters are deep and likeable and the plot is enthralling and it falls victim to none of the vampire stereo types. It's definitely worth reading.

(Also, It's a trilogy. The second book is called The Eternity Cure and I'm not sure if it's been published yet but the third is The Forever Song.)
