black and blue from playing roller hockey on a wet rink on friday night. had a hair cut and watched two films with the girl. The actors and Tomb raider 2 neither of which added up to much. Most fun had this weekend was playing x box and trying to explain to a peroxide blonde in the hair dressers...
i quite enjoyed it, had some good ideas, though it went a bit daft but that is the way of these things. i would have to say that i enjoyed dog soldiers much more - got some good frying pan action!

moorcock is definately my favourite after Tolkein (and thats a close fight!)
i would advise extreme caution with the elric books, i think the latter books suck big time. Fortress of the pearl and onwards are to be avoided, curiosity reads only. you can buy the eternal champion series in...
i've read the wind up bird chronicles and quite enjoyed it, i agree with funes' comparison to twin peaks. Can't remember if another book comes before this one, it was my first murakami and i enjoyed it - so it's probably not critical if there is a sequence. incidently the american hardback...
interesting subject. i would argue perhaps, that the present is not a process, as to be the ever present it is not subject to time, if it were it would be the past or future. Therefore leprosy is not subject to the present, neither is decay, as the present is a moment suspended in time.

2000 ad rocks, well actually i haven't read it for a long time. can't even remember my favourite writers! i think kevin smith was my favourite artist though. My favourite characters are:
Judge Dredd (and Chopper)
ABC warriors - loved deadlock
Mean team
Rogue trooper - wish someone would...
my favourites - Barbara Hambly's the darwath trilogy, who could forget the hideous creeping horror of the dark, and the pitifully trapped humans trying to figure out the nature of this horror as it decimates mankind around them.

crow road?
crow road is probably my favourite of all his books, i think if you enjoyed the wasp factory then you shall enjoy the crow road. it was made into a film but i haven't seen it.
unfortunately it's been a while since i read it, and i think if i were to give you a brief synopsis it...
sorry ST i've not read it. you might have more joy if this was posted in the general book discussion or fiction section.
right.... back to twitching the net curtains. :)

a non fiction discussion broke out the other day regarding the history of British Imperialism. it occured to me afterwards that anybody who was interested in a witty, fictional account would enjoy Frasier's Flashman series.
i've read a number of them and always save one for a holiday treat...
ahoy me hearties and heave to! what be this? a couple of jack tars discussing spending plunder on a game? what be the stakes? nothing be worthy of plunder less it be women or rum.
look livey - ARRRRRR!
