For August, how about a book title with August in it?

    Commentary on Leaves of Grass

From a blog, and not a bad one at that. Scripture for a Dead God. "I would argue that Leaves of Grass is the first great work of scripture to be penned since modernity killed God." Well then.......

    Atlas shrugged

Oh yeah, not difficult at all. It's simply written and straight forward when it comes to worldview.

    Are New Age books non-fiction?

Yep, a non-fiction argument, no matter how unproven or stretched, is still non-fiction.

    Current Non-Fiction reads

That is a great book, no doubt about it. I'd also read Leadership Lessons of Abraham Lincoln. It will give you more of an insight as to how he dealt with some of those personalities, especially the slow as molasses moving generals.

    Nobody reads?

If nobody reads, then why is YA booming? Trivial reading is still reading and at a younger age, it can lead to more substantive reading. You have to start somewhere and what interests you at a certain time can spark interest in other areas. I would imagine the reaction to the young man is more...

Best novels of the 21st century......so far ;)

The Guardian has an interesting article of the best novels so far. I love the inclusion of Diaz and The Corrections. I'm surprised that The Road was considered a "runner up" though I bet it moves up the rankings in the future. No list can be without its flaws right...

Loved the Doctorow book, just finished it yesterday. The:eek: Collyer brothers:confused: were quite something else. I've always enjoyed Doctorow's writing and I think Ragtime was masterful in how it wove in multiple characters in all of their complexities in a smooth story, absolutely...

This Is How You Lose Her. I really liked it, it reminded me of Sandra Cisneros's book The House on Mango Street, only from a male perspective. It was more of a novella, but I liked it as much as I did The Brief Wondrous Life of Oscar Wao, which was the first book of his that I read. I highly...

    Are Audiobooks Cheating?

A lot of it has to do with who the reader is. I love reading Simon Winchester. Listening to him is entirely another matter.

Post Book Cover: Your Current Read...

I've really been surprised by her success. She graduated from UNL and wrote a column for the Omah World-Herald for a year or so. She got some "hate letters" in the letters to the editor section when she wrote about coming home drunk from a bar crawl. One of her books has also been targeted by...
