The worst part about Scarlett wasn't the actors (although they were beyond badly cast), it was that they played Love Hurts as the end song  . Love hurts? To Scarlett? It completely ruined any ambiance they might have been able to get going.
I've only seen Jude as a movie, so I can't really say what the story is like, but the movie might very well be the most depressing thing I've ever seen. I shudder to think what must have gone through Hardy's head while he wrote it since he really seems to aim at making every person in the book...
I shall never again joke about serious things like Paradise Lost. My bad. And I don't know about you, but I don't consider Steve from 90210 a "great bod and face" ;).
I could probably come up with many examples, but as I just saw the old BBC version of Pride & Prejudice again, I must say that Colin Firth IS Mr Darcy. The guy in the new Keira Knightly version doesn't even come close.
We're breaking now for a short message from our sponsors.......

Has everyone stopped discussing Jesus and his politics? Good.
I think beergood is on to something with Dustin Hoffman. I can definitely see him as Satan. I a good way.
You think Tom Cruise is an alien? What...
Spikeyli, I think we have a different point of view when it comes to Satan. I don't know if you've read anything from Paradise Lost, but Satan is by far the most interesting and complicated character and certainly not of the "guy on the cover with his nipples showing" variety. That's why I...
Thanks! That picture really gives the right feeling, I agree. I can't wait to see it. I read on Neil's blog that he thought it was a mix between The Princess Bride and Pirates of the Caribbean and considering I looooove The Princess Bride and watched it like a million times growing up and also...
  I didn't even know they were filming it!! Hurray! You've made my day! And mrkgnaos day (another Gaiman-fan who's around here)!:D :D Stardust is my favourite Gaiman, so this is a real treat for me!!:D Have to go and find those caps immediately!
You should try some Gaiman! If you want to start out easy you can read some of the shortstories in Smoke and Mirrors (I recommend Chivalry, it's hilarious) or Gaiman's YA book Coraline which is deliciously spooky. These should give you a good idea what to expect from Gaiman. For novels, Stardust...
Mary Hoffman has written a series called Stravaganza. There's three books: City of Masks, City of Stars, City of Flowers. They are pretty much standalones but kept together by a common thread - stravagagating, i.e. moving through time and space. I've read the first book and it was well-written...
I want to see Paradise Lost. It's the ultimate story.
Cast:
God: Sean Connery (as previously stated by Eddie Izzard)
Satan: Gary Oldman
Adam: Steve from Beverly Hills 90210 (No one cares about Adam anyway)
Eve:Jennifer Love Hewitt (No one cares about Eve anyway)
Any thoughts?
There are quite a few Gaiman-fans here, myself included and previous posts on his books as well if you dig through the archives.
I liked American Gods well enough, but it's not my favourite Gaiman. I think the problem with telling alot of different stories within a book is that it's very easy...
