I think the most I have spent on a ,non text book, book was $40 for a very beautiful book of birds by the Audubon Society and it was half the cover price.
I buy everything used or on sale too, If I absolutely can't wait I check it out from the library :)
I could never get rid of my books, I have many old, beautiful books that belonged to my grandparents. I moved around 1000 books to Germany, around Germany, and then back to the USA, one of the first German phrases I heard roughly translated to "shit, that's a lot of books" :)
I just could never...
I hardly ever get around to writing reviews anymore, I keep a notebook but even it just gets a quick jot :)
Gone Girl, I must admit I only read due to the hype. Every podcast, forum and book club was on about it and I caved under the pressure of my own curiosity. It was a quick read it pulled...
I will have to look for this next library run, I have read Grapes of Wrath, Of Mice and Men, East of Eden. East of Eden , I loved it was my favorite by him so far, definitely a close look a morality or the lack of, it has one of the most evil characters I can remember ever reading about :)
I love Downton Abbey and am anxiously waiting for season 4, meeanwhile Goodreads has a list of books for Downton fans and I have been reading through it :)
So far I have enjoyed most of them.

I still listen to Pandora to try and find new songs but get frustrated with it for the same reasons you mentioned SFG. I find myself using Spotify more often these days, it is not good super good for finding new music but you can make a playlist and actually listen to the songs you added :)
I am not sure if there has ever been an abundance of young readers but for now, I think it may have something to do with all the other competing media. When I was younger I don't know if we all loved reading but on a rainy, boring day it was all you had to do, we didn't have cable, Internet or...
I read that Kobo was Toronto based, it is still hard to find down here in North Carolina, so I would have to order one most likely.
I am very fond of tablets as well, but (this is embarrassing to admit) I tend to get distracted by the games. I will spend hours on Pocket Frogs and get no reading...
I am leaning towards a Kobo, for my first e-reader :) mainly because I have heard you can register your account with an independent bookstore of your choice, then your store gets credit for books bought by you. Does anyone with a kobo have any info on how easy this is to do? And I heard you can...
I don't think anyone was proposing ICE be forced to let us join or any changes to your policies. I was just curious, there's not really any information about it on the bar side and honestly the above that you posted is the only post I have seen on a BAR thread from an ICE member.
So, I take it...
Well I would think it would be weird for them as well, to know this other forum can read all that they post but not contribute anything. I still don't know if they can do the same here. Maybe we are the ghostso_O
Just recently I was scared about this possibility all over again, when I was at the Smithsonian there was an exhibit of meteorites that had landed in people's homes  One came crashing through while they were watching television and another the woman woke up one morning and saw it lodged in...
