Er. Ok. I used to use the word 'bananas' a lot. In my high-school and college days. Sorta a way to stand out at the time, being the funny guy, as way to blend in, I guess, and to get cheap giggles from the girls. I found that it's really an easy way to get people to ease up, so I sorta stuck to...
Hmm, that may actually make it more interesting to me. :)
I don't even remember the brandon routh version. and I recently-ish saw the Christopher Reeves one (the one where he opted to become human) and thought that that was a movie of and for that particular time, rather than any impression of...
Finished Jane Eyre last week. Excellent. Prefer Austen though. Next, another Bronte! Wuthering Heights, here I come!

I like to see how they do it, even though I know what's going to happen. This is the primary reason I prefer to read the books first before seeing any movie adaptation of the same book.

Do you remember the time when there were wars fought and the rivers of bits spewed over whether one should start a new thread or resurrect old threads here in this forum???

The Kindle is very nice. The page transitions needed getting a little used to, but nothing major. I dislike the way it handles PDFs...
I didn't know The Old Man and the Sea was highly rated in the first place, but while I did not hate it, I think I did not learn the lesson of the story.
Dude, they are amazing books. Like *awesome*. You may have long held this belief after being bullied into reading them at school a long time ago. Read them again sometime, and you may get a pleasant surprise. Mockingbird is a sublime piece of work.
My most overrated book of all time is The...
It's really shiny, very polished, very Pixar-like. But as the story goes along you realize that something is missing. 'Soul' would be too dramatic. 'Heart' is too pompous. I'll settle for 'Something'.
I hadn't known if Pixar was involved in this film going in, but somewhere around the middle...
Ah, that's interesting observation. I loved the first part of the novel, but the part where Doyle digresses into the other story (the desert story you mentioned), I forced myself along. Certainly not the best part of the novel for me.
The pure Sherlock Holmes experience is to be gotten from the...
If you've enjoyed his Sandman series, give American Gods a go. It's not bad, although if you're a Sandman veteran you may find that a little too many things feel rehashed.
I like that he's... unexpected.
