You might try the Hunger Games trilogy by Suzanne Collins or The Mortal Instruments series by Cassandra Clare. Clare also has a new series called Infernal Devices which I have yet to read, but it looks interesting.
I finished Rebecca, and I liked it very much. Very atmospheric. Seems Max thought he could find happiness by finding a woman who was the opposite of his first wife. Though it was hard for me to think of her as homely because I could see Joan Fontaine in my mind's eye as I read.

I always prefer to read a series in sequence, and over the years, I've collected all of the Poirot novels.
I'm about due to re-read them. They are some of my favorite mysteries ever. Even the least of them has Poirot in it.
Been listening to a lot of Carcass lately. Nothing like cranking them up in the car with the windows rolled down as I drive home from work each night. I feel better by the time I get home.

It's doing really well here too...a top 10 show. I'm glad...maybe we'll get a few more seasons of the silliness.
And Raj was VERY funny last night. They should give him more air time, I think.
So far, so good. Some of the descriptions get a bit wordy for me, but I just remind myself that this novel was written in the 1930s. The characters are intriguing, and I definitely want to keep reading. I hope to put a good dent (if not finish it) this weekend.
I almost wish I hadn't seen the film version of Rebecca so many times. All I can imagine is Joan Fontaine and Laurence Olivier and Judith Anderson as I'm reading. I even imagine a black cocker spaniel everytime Jasper is mentioned.
