    Late Night Reading

I love staying up late to read. I did it a lot in college when I was working on the Wheel of Time series. But I value my sleep too much now to stay up late reading these days. A couple of months ago I was up til 4:30am one Friday night reading Dragonworld by Byron Preiss.

George R. R. Martin: A Song Of Ice And Fire

I finished A Clash of Kings a couple of weeks ago and I'm still really enjoying this series. I'm anxious to see what happens, but I'm trying to spread them out so that I won't have to wait so long for the next book to come out.

    books on spies and espionage

Clive Cussler has written some of my favorites, although they are more adventure. He has a series called The Oregon Files and those books have more spy stuff.

    Looking for book suggestions

I read Seraphim by Michele Hauf a couple of months ago and really enjoyed it. Definitely a strong main female character and it's fantasy, too.

Zora Neale Hurston: Their Eyes Were Watching God

I just finished reading this book and I am so glad I took my sisters recommendation to read it. Somehow, I missed reading it in school, so I didn't have the opportunity to discuss it in a group setting. I wrote about it on my blog, but didn't seem to really come to any conclusion (see link in...

What do you use as a bookmark?

I tend to lose my bookmarks faster than I read a book, so in the past I just stick with index cards or pieces of paper. I used to fold the corners, but I think I grew out of that as I cam to really respect the written word. Right now I have a beautiful periwinkle metal one that my sister gave...

Don't I know it! I'm really excited about it, but I have no illusions that I will read ALL of those books this summer... I do have other responsibilities, unfortunately.

    adventure movies

Try The Mummy and The Mummy Returns. I love those ones, even if they're a little cheesy. I also like National Treasure and the Pirates of the Carribean movies. I'm excited for the third one to come out! Also, I don't know if it's considered adventure, but I really love Sky Captain and the...

    Last seen...

I watched most of Marie Antoinette yesterday, but didn't finish it because it was due back. Beautifully done, but I just wasn't in the mood for it, I think. I got my husband to watch The Holiday with me this last weekend and we were both pleasantly surprised. I was expecting just another...

who has seen a good movie lately

I watched Stranger Than Fiction last week with my husband and really enjoyed it. Definitely not what I expected from Will Ferrell. I highly recommend it to anyone who likes movies and books - very fun.

The last sentence in the book you're currently reading.

I haven't gotten to the end yet, so I haven't seen what the last line is. I'm the type that reads from the beginning to the end and I don't want to look...
