Really nice tracks. I am sure I'd not heard either before though the second one, Easy Muffin does sound somewhat familiar, possibly I've heard it in a film soundtrack. Or possibly my subconscious tells me it would be fitting in such a place. Ah, Bricolage. :whistling:

Best Horror of the past decade?

Interesting selection. I don't agree with that list at all, but then any of these lists are completely down to personal choice and interpretation. Joe Hill definitely wouldn't factor in my top ten of the best horror books of the last decade, but then again I wouldn't place anything by Neil...

    Random Image Thread

The only reason I know is that I recall it from Norway when I was younger on my cousin's bookshelves and suchlike. It was never shown/published in the UK (to my knowledge, and that of my friends/relatives).

I love The Legend of 1900, and hardly anyone I know has ever seen it. It's such a nice film, soaked in sentiment definitely, but with just enough edge and story to keep it from drowning in such. That duel scene is great.

The Thing (2011) - 6.5/10. Good in start and end parts, a bit meh in the middle part, due to similarities with the film it's both a prequel to and kind of remake also... worth a watch though, I think anyway.

    Bentley Little: The Haunted

This is definitely on my TBR list. Alas though, my TBR is colossal so it may take a while to get around to it.

"The Lord of the Rings" vs "The Chronicles of Narnia"

Can you imagine if that had gone to court? I can just picture the judge/jury struggling to keep straight faces as the charges are read out...

    Sherlock Holmes Canon - Completed!

I was almost going to open up Photoshop and start working on a creative image involving my interpretation of what a Sherlock Holmes cannon might look like. Then I read the original post properly, and realised to do such a thing would be a waste of time, with possibly only semi-amusing...

March 2012: Arthur Conan Doyle: The Hound of the Baskervilles

One thing that's not often discussed about this novel is that it was written and published at a time that railway travel was at its height in the UK. People were travelling more and more, and branches of the first newsagents were sprouting up all over the UK, from which people were buying...

The Man Who Broke Atlantic City

Could it be that it's one more thing for the dealer to have to contend with? Physically/psychologically it means he/his hands are more tired, he's more prone to making mistakes and such... just a thought. One of those tiny things than adds another small notch to the probability being factored...
