post your thoughts on this book here.
also, i have two specific questions:
1. is it really good?
2. is it appropriate for an 11 year old boy?
thanks :)
I started reading Twilight over the summer and got terribly bored. i didnt get past 40 pages or so. so id advise to stay away from that one. im not familiar with the others.
Reading and finishing that story were probably the two biggest mistakes of my life thus far. I found myself just wanting to finish it as fast as possible, get the painful experience over with, et cetera. If there was any meaning buried beneath all the shock value aside from our society sucks at...
Hey, just wanted to say thanks to you all for giving me suggestions, and I welcome any more that you or anyone can think of.
Has anyone read Choke by Chuck...P...long hard to spell last name... guy who wrote fight club... alright ill just go for... paluchaok.... ahem...
Anyway, someone...
hey thanks a lot. he was in 4th when he read fight club, but he's in 6th grade now (youngest in his class though).
anyway, he liked eragon, so I'll check into the other books you recommended. thanks a lot!
oh - he also likes frank miller graphic novels when the parents will let him get his hands on them. just nothing too sexually explicit i guess, and nothing that's too overwhelming thematically either.
thanks a lot :)

the teacher was not pleased.
especially because my brother made a building (out of clay) for "visual aid," and one of his friends...
I knew it was a lot to ask... :(
But yes, ALL of the above, if possible. I wouldn't even say the books I mentioned really qualify, but, I definitely appreciate you taking the time to reflect on this and hopefully come up with something. That goes for anyone who has the time :)
Thanks a lot...
To the op: I know exactly what you are talking about - not feeling motivated to start reading a book even though you know it will make you more intelligent, knowledgable, well rounded, et cetera, and just opting to lay back and watch mindless television instead. Or, even if I'm enjoying a book...
meaningful, and DARK book in existence.
What is it?
I just spent the last thirty minutes specifying, and then when I tried to preview my post it asked me to log in a second time, and then my post disappeared. The forum should really fix that...
Anyway, take two - this time I'll be sure to...
