I started reading Twilight over the summer and got terribly bored. i didnt get past 40 pages or so. so id advise to stay away from that one. im not familiar with the others.

hey thanks a lot. he was in 4th when he read fight club, but he's in 6th grade now (youngest in his class though). anyway, he liked eragon, so I'll check into the other books you recommended. thanks a lot!

oh - he also likes frank miller graphic novels when the parents will let him get his hands on them. just nothing too sexually explicit i guess, and nothing that's too overwhelming thematically either. thanks a lot :)

Don't get the wrong idea. This kid is nuts. a few years ago he snuck into my room, stole fight club, read it, and wrote his 4th grade book report on it. the teacher was not pleased. especially because my brother made a building (out of clay) for "visual aid," and one of his friends...

To the op: I know exactly what you are talking about - not feeling motivated to start reading a book even though you know it will make you more intelligent, knowledgable, well rounded, et cetera, and just opting to lay back and watch mindless television instead. Or, even if I'm enjoying a book...
