By Jerry Yulsman, has anyone ever read this book? It's an oldish one but a great story, part puzzle, part thriller and has time travel thrown in too.
I'd love to talk to someone about this book but no-one I know has ever read it.
I thought Balefire by Ken Goddard was great, it's about a small town police force in America trying to outsmart a band of terrorists. I don't want to give too much away but it's brilliant, on the edge of the seat kind of read with enough, scientific and forensic elements to make this novel seem...
Have you ever read something and totally didn't like one of it's characters so much it could have ruined the book for you?
One of my favourite books is Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austin, however I really didn't like Lizzie very much and she really got on my nerves until maybe near the end...
hey thanks guys, I've been on mb's before but am quite new to book forums so I'm really happy. My favourite genre is crime fiction, followed closely by fantasy and adventure, the classics and roman mysteries but I really like anything from any genre, I'm not fussy.
I'm not reading anything...
lol ooops just re-read the thread title, never mind these are my fav authors, lets have a go at fantasy authors instead, um Tolkien and Lloyd Alexander, Rowling and Pratchet are the one's I can remember right now.
In no order Jane Austin, Emily Bronte, Tolkien, Rowling, Minette Walters, Sue Grafton, James Herbet, Alexandre Dumas, actually I have quite a few fav authors.
lol I remember being bored silly by that first bit the first time I read it but when I got to the end I didn't understand it so I had to read the book again from the start, the second time round I really enjoyed it.
I definitely thought it was the best book out of the lot.
I loved this book and the book it was based on, Pride and Prejudice is one of my favourites.
The two books have a lot in common, both Helen Fielding and Jane Austen use wit and humour very well and are brilliant at observing social behavior and people's characters.
