Here's what I have for this month. :D
1. Four & Twenty Blackbirds by Mercedes Lackey
2. The Runelords by David Farland
3. St. Patrick's Gargoyle by Katherine Kurtz
4. Dragonshadow by Barbara Hambly
5. Dragonstar by Barbara Hambly
Next month will be spent reading all the HP books.
I have just finished The Vanished Child by Sarah Smith. It was quite good so I am now trying to find the two other books in the series. I am in a coin toss right now between reading Tigana by Guy Gavriel Kay or starting the whole Deryni series by Katherine Kurtz. In the end I may just read...
The Thomas Covenant books only appeal a to very few. I enjoyed them but except for a couple people everyone else I know that has read them just couldn't get into them and set them aside. Though a much slower read the second trilogy was my favorite. Currently I'm reading Winter's Tale by Mark...
I remember all the golden age books but the first books I really remember reading by myself were Peter Pan and The Wizard of Oz. After that I went through the various childhood series The Hardy Boys, Nancy Drew, The Three investigators, Robin Kane, Doc Savage, Homer Price, The Chronicles Of...
I am looking for a couple of books that were only released in dutch does anybody know of a good dutch or international bookseller or trader that ships to the U.S.? I looked through the seller links and didn't find anything that could help so any info is appreciated.
That's cool I'm surprised Amazon lets them do that. I think I'll just enter all the info myself it may take longer but at least all the right version info will be correct. Now I have a reason to use my scanner lol.
It's a great book though a lot of people don't seem to like the style for some reason. I think it's one of those that most people just have to read through a time or two before they really enjoy it. Definitely one of the early fantasy classics though at least in my opinion.
I use just plain old MS: Excel or Word. Though after looking at the collecorz site I'm thinking of converting. If you do get it please post how well it works it looks like it has some cool features like loan manager. How or where does it get the cover images?
I'm just starting Killing Time by Caleb Carr it seems interesting so far. I just finished the four Elminster books by Ed Greenwood they were fairly good though the first Elminster: The Making Of A Mage was definitely the best and a few steps up from the other three.
I think Lord Asriel and Mrs. Coulter from the His Dark Materials trilogy by Philip Pullman are a couple of the more evil characters in fantasy. But for science fiction I'd have to say Peter Wiggin from the Enders Game series by Orson Scott Card you never knew what he was going to do.
Here are a few of my favorites in no particular order.
Fantasy-
1. The Worm Ouroboros by E.R. Eddison
2. The Dragonbone Chair by Tad Williams (Book one of Memory, Thorn & Sorrow)
3. Jirel Of Joiry by C.L. Moore
4. The Gormenghast Novels by Mervyn Peake (Titus Groan, Gormenghast and Titus...
