    what's everyone up to today?

Okay, people, I think someone needs to put a limit on the number of books I can check out of the library at one time. As of this moment, I have a dozen and six more on hold. And today, when I was there, I saw at least four more I wanted (but exercised an incredible amount of self control)...

    Artistic or Intelligent?

You bring up an interesting topic, sfg. I recently saw a news program where they updated several stories they did on child-prodigies, you know, like a kid who got his first college degree at ten years old. I distinctly remember one boy, who is now, at the ripe old age of 21, a college...

    Artistic or Intelligent?

They both have thier pros and cons. High intelligence does not mean high ambition. You can easily have a very smart underachiever. And you can have a talented artist whose talent goes unused. My sisters kids are all brainiacs, but there is a difference. Her son is athletic as well, so fits...

Mother forces daughter to wear sign

Yes, parents should take some responsibility for what thier kid does, but there comes a point when you can't be two feet from the kid 24/7. Peer pressure and plain old rebeliousness come into play and what your kid does when they are out of your sight is out of your control. You do the best...

Old Christmas Threads (gifts, well wishes, etc)

I'm buying some art books for oldest DD, two of The Moffat's series for younger DD, probably a Dr. Seuss book and a book about dinosaurs for oldest Ds. Not sure yet about youngest, but he'll get a couple for sure. I even bought a few for myself :D .

    Tattoos and Piercings

My favorite tattoo of my own is on my right front hip. It is a sun, in the center of which, I took each of my children's first initials and blended them into a single "monogram". This is the design as I made it on my computer.

    Growing up Gotti

I have seen this show and I an a sort-of fan. It does not show you the Cleavers that's for sure, but, this family could be alot worse. Sure the kids are self-centered and indulged, but on the other hand, this is a strong, smart woman, raising three boys on her own. She has a law degree...

Wandering books. Does this happen to you?

I don't have that problem. I'm the only avid reader in my house so far (oldest dd shows some promise, though). I do have difficulty with my bookmarks flying out of my books, usually my highly decorated ones. I tend to find those folded many times on the floor of my sons' room. I think my...

    Survivor: Guatemala

Yeah, Jamie was getting a little freaked out, if you ask me. I would have probably skinny dipped, too, that mud probably got in places showering with a swimsuit couldn't have taken care of. But then again, I'm not that great to look at nekkid, so the guys wouldn't have been too excited :p .
