Anyone see this show yet? I'm absolutely horrified that it's on the air. I'd like to see them in conjunction with this show, run a companion episode detailing the lives of families who are missing a father or brother due to what the father of this family said or ordered others to do to them. How crass and simply wrong.link

I have seen this show and I an a sort-of fan. It does not show you the Cleavers that's for sure, but, this family could be alot worse. Sure the kids are self-centered and indulged, but on the other hand, this is a strong, smart woman, raising three boys on her own. She has a law degree, several business ventures, authored several books and is involved in an awareness campaign for the illness she has. They are not on welfare, the boys all attend either university or private prep schools, make excellent grades, and have pretty good career expectations. Like I said, it could be a lot worse.

I've seen bits and pieces of it while surfing, the most I've ever watched at a time is 10 minutes, it's too painful-a bit like rubbernecking at a car wreck.

The boys are grown, and Ms. Gotti needed to hire a minder to watch the boys? He's like a combination bouncer/nanny. That's scary in itself. But these "kids" don't seem to be destined to be useful members of society-only consumers. Ugh.

I've only seen a couple of episodes. In the one that I saw, they were arranging a birthday party for the oldest boy. Mom had him whisked away to do some shopping, but an outfit, and talk to P-Diddy. Not only that, but he had to choose girls for his "angels" unit and they spent tons of money on the party. What kind of message is this kid(yes, he's still a kid)? I'm sorry, but the mother totally has the boys out of contact with reality and with how real people live. And as I said earlier, what bout the families who are missing a father or brother becaue he was a union worker who wouldn't tow the line? What about them? Are they schmoozing with P-Diddy? Do they throw thousands of dollars away in a party for their kid?

I have a low oppinion of people who overly admire glamourized criminals like John Gotti. It's a long story. Personally I'm fed-up of the American fascination with the mafia. I think SFG75 has had a great idea with this other show

Victoria Gotti would have none of that--she wouldn't have money and wouldn't have been published, for sure--if her father wasn't Don John. As far as her kids having 'pretty good career expectations', how many people do you think would say no if John Jr. came by and asked them to give his kid a job?

You have a point there. I guess their name is both a blessing and a cure-a blessing because it opens some doors and shuts others.

But if they had been raised "properly", they could have entered college under an assumed name-Natalie Portman did that-and perhaps could have gone on to have careers without people knowing who they were. Of course, like most secrets, it would be found ouot sooner or later but hopefully by then they could have been established in whatever field and the name wouldn't matter.

For most of us, "The Mob" doesn't have the same cachet it did up to what, the '70s?
