I just finished this story and I thought it was so well written. Matheson takes you into Robert Neville's world. You feel every emotion that Robert does and just when you think the poor guy has endured enough, something else "tops the cake."
I didn't want it to end. Especially the way it...
It's been at least 15 years since I've read King, but Pet Cemetery IMO was scary. SPOILERS....Especially when the father wakes up in bed and thinks he was dreaming, until he steps out of bed to see his feet covered in dirt!!
One of these days I'll get into King again and will not know...
I think that if you have a character in your mind and you can picture them as plain as day(almost as if they are sitting right next to you), then plots and settings can fall ino place.
I'm not sure if I'd call it weak, it is a bit winded though. I think it had a great beginning, it had me captured. But now I am at the point where if it doesn't pick up again I will be dissappointed. What is do you recommend for Barker? This is only the second I've read.
Don't know what to tell you Stewart, but I liked it. :) Is it my favorite Koontz book? Nope. Alot of people rant and rave about Phantoms and that's the one I can't stand.
Hmm, when I first began reading horror, I think I started with Dean Koontz or John Saul. IMO they're both good. Some more scarey than others. I recommend Richard Laymon too.
We were always in bed by 8 pm when I was a kid. We only got to stay up later on friday and saturday nights.
I can't really complain about reading time. I work four 12 hour days and have 3 days off. I don't have kids and try to get the mundane things, such as house-cleaning, out of the way...
I haven't tried to make a list. I feel that if I do, I'd have to follow it. I never know what I might feel like reading. So I try to keep it more a mystery when I go searching through my piles of books.
But I've seen some interesting ones posted that I might check out.
