I Love the Gordianus series and have read them all, including the collected short stories, except for the latest, Raiders of the Nile. I'm saving that for a birthday treat (if I can hold out until May.)
ETA: The John Maddox Roberts series, set during Julius Caesar's rise to power is also very...
"RtS, I certainly hope the DSM-V has finally added at least one of my proposed terms. I'm still miffed that they continue to refuse to recognize the "Snap Out of It" school of psychotherapy."
Maine, I think that is a fast-track subset of the "Get Over Yourself" school of therapy. It's not too...
JCBC, I recently picked up The Chinese Shawl by one of the lesser-known Golden Age authors, Patricia Wentworth. Her detective, Miss Silver, reminds me a lot of Christie's Miss Marple. There were a lot of good mystery authors writing in that era and style; I've been searching a few more out. Less...

The Amazon Vine thread and Colin's "Dark Deeds Press" thread, where he wrote original (and very funny) stories, are lost. He hasn't saved them offline, so this is a real bummer. How could entire threads get lost??
While I read and enjoyed THE CHRISTMAS TRAIN, THE SNOW CHILD looks like an enchanting reading for the post-Christmas doldrums.
M.K. Coker's police procedural DEAD WHITE is a wonderfully chilling introduction to the bleak Midwestern plains in winter.
I also got a couple of good recommendations, and will read the second first. My 'victim' reads a lot of fantasy, but said she would be interested in trying a mystery, so I recommended a favorite Golden Age mystery by Tey. Hope she enjoys it!
