I pay for my own books. I have quite a bit of money from doing lots of gardening and babysitting for other families, and anyways I dont buy anything else other than books really.
Lol I cant remember half of the books I've read this year but I think its around 65 pretty big fantasy novels. Some of the Authors I have read this year include R.A. Salvatore, Steven Erikson, Robert Jordan, Raymond E. Feist, jack Whyte, George R.R Martin, Terry Brooks, and Guy Gavriel Kay.
No its a pretty crappy library. Plus I like buying books and collecting them over the years. The reason im not bankrupt is because im just turning fifteen and dont have to worry about paying the bills yet. I know in a couple of years im going to have to cut back on the books I buy.
Cant remember the exact quotes but they go something like this... " I know your here to kill me. Shoot, Coward, Im only a man"...Che guevara said this right before he got executed. He also said " I dont care if I fall as long as someone picks up my gun and keeps on shooting".
I used to go to my local library alot but probably stopped about a year ago. They have a bad selection of science fiction and fantasy books and most of the books are in horrible condition with ripped pages and food stains on them. I buy probably 2-3 books a week these days.
Sword Of Shannara- Was a New York Times best seller. Dont understand why. Basically a rip off of Lord Of The Rings. The second and third books are just boring and predictable
Sword Of Truth by Terry Goodkind- Once again boring and unoriginal. Also a bestseller for reasons unknown. Childish...
Malazan book of the fallen by Steven Erikson. The first four books are out right now and there is going to be about 10. The book takes place in a vast land and it is a complex and challenging novel with a lot of action and mystery.
Im near the end of Gardens Of the Moon and it is a awesome book. There are lot's of mages in the book and duels between them. There are some summonings of demons also within the book. There are knights in the book as well but there not in the book much.. Its a complex and challenging read but is...
I wouldnt go with Terry Brooks work.. The sword of truth by terry goodkind is pretty good introduction into the fantasy world. If you are looking for a more complicated read I would suggest Gardens Of The Moon by Steven Erikson or a Song Of Ice and FIre by George R.R Martin. Eddings is a pretty...
i saw something a while back about his dark materials coming out in three years or so. That would probably be a good movie. In the next 5 years lots of fantasy and science fiction books are going to be made into movies. :)
the skystone
the skystone is a good series on roman history. The first book takes is from Publis Varrus's view. He is King Arthurs grand father. As the series progresses it takes place in King Arthur's view.. It shows how his sword was made and how the city Camelot was formed.. Overall they are...
..
The Sword of Shannara is a good series for someone your age. Though it has many similiarities to Lord Of The Rings it is still a well written book and I enjoyed it. As the series goes on I think it is getting better. They are around 600 page books and are 8-10 of them (cant remember exact...
