Read this book a couple of days ago. I did enjoy reading it. It had a cool concept on how intelligent life on earth came to be and on alien civilisation.
Story-wise it was alright, but about halfway through it got kind of lengthy. The main character in this part of the book was not really that interesting for me personally, as was the situation he was in(problems and ethics with AI, probably very interesting at the time the book was released, but for modern day a bit uninteresting).
This book is the first in a series of four total. I will be reading the others because I do really like the setting and I would love to see the writer delving deeper into the concept he's created.
Bottom line:
If you want to read a good sci-fi book and you are mostly interested in exploring new concepts, this is a good read. If you are looking for an intriguing story and most of all for interesting characters, I would have to recommend to look a bit further.
If anyone else has read this book, I would love to know your thoughts about it!
