2014 Books Coming Out

I have the exact same problem. I really need to slap a big No-Book-Buying Ban on myself until I get through some of the books on my TBR pile... a fair few of which I've had for years!

Yay! Ditto, lol. I decided - for real - I need to stop buying books and read my pile first (collected over the years *sigh*). Unless, of course, there's a good bargain. Cause who can resist bargains, right? XD

Although I've bought too many books this year, I have managed to put quite a few on my Amazon Wish List. Baby steps. :)

Yay! Well done pontabla. Maybe I should start an Amazon wish list too.

I'm in the process of doing a few home improvements to the house at the moment, decorating, new carpets etc. and have just boxed up a lot of my books while the work is going on and OMG!!! I knew I had a lot of books, but even I had to admit that I have way too many! Not that it's possible to have too many...but it is getting a little bit crazy. I really am going to have to sort through them and find new homes for the ones that I know I will never read again.

I'm going to make an effort to not buy any more books for the rest of this year and solely concentrate on my own TBR pile with the occasional library book thrown in for good measure. I do have a few books on pre-order which is totally allowed and not against the rules at all!

Well, Karen, the problem with getting rid of books you think you might not read, is that reading is a moody thing. You may not be in the mood atm to read that particular book, but that can change. It's happened to me a few times.

That's the problem though - why do you think I've kept hold of them for so long?!

In all seriousness though there are a few that I know I will never read again as I never enjoyed them first time around and have no intention of ever reading them again. Plus getting rid of books means it makes room for new books!
