Another film adaptation post

My revenge fantasies for bad adaptation are usually directed at Disney for #3, Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy.

But we can't stop at nine. We need to add the Scarlet Letter with Demi Moore. I mean really need to.

I didn't even know it was a book. Matilda is my 7 year old daughter's hands down, all time favorite movie, so that makes me a little biased towards liking it. I thought it was sort of cute, but then again I never read the book.

I do agree with every other film listed, except maybe "I am Legend" which I didn't think was so bad.
 
One other movie like this in my opinion was Timeline, the Robert Crichton story. I loved the novel, but movie was really awful. Actually I could say same thing about other Crichton novel made into a movie: Congo.
 
The Bone Collector and Jurassic Park should be added to the list. Both are good books,but the movies were really boring. The Bone Collector was so boring I fell asleep an hour in. Although Golden Compass deserves to be up there.
 
But... but.. there never was a Will Smith version of I Am Legend. I'm sure of this. It simply never happened. It couldn't have.
 
I disagree with Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy. Was it as good as the book? Of course not. But I thought it was clever, funny and really captured the spirit of the book.
