Any recommendations for kids sci-fi

Sorry, I'm sure this has been asked before again and again. :-/

I'm looking for any sci-fi book recommendations for my daughter. She's ten but quite happily reading books a bit older than that, e.g. she's reading Phillip Pullman for about the 3rd time, read all the Percy Jacksons, Harry Potters as well as other things like the Molly Moon books, David Walliams, Wimpy Kid.

Plenty of fantasy there and I reckon she'd like sci-fi as well as she's into space-related non-fiction but my own sci-fi reading started when I was a bit older so all my old books would be for later on.

A few "ingredients" my wife and I thought of are:

- more about peoples in space than Space Opera-style chases round the galaxy (a junior version of the Culture books would be ideal in a way)
- she loves alternate realities (e.g. His Dark Materials)
- not too scary
- pretty fast moving
- fairly well written

Any ideas greatly appreciated - thanks in advance,

Both of my kids loved the Warriors books at that age, but I guess they would be more fantasy than sci-fi.
 
Ten?

Maybe Ender's Game since she's reading at a higher level. Asimov's I, Robot and The Caves of Steel would be good choices. Neil Gaiman's Stardust and of course, William Goldman's The Princess Bride.

Has she read The Hobbit yet?
 
She might like some of Mercedes Lackey’s books.

Would she like:
Magic and telepathic horses?
Traveling musicians?
Telepathic birds?
Loosely based on fairy tales?
Elves and racing cars?
Griffins?

Ender's Saga Orson Scott Card (maybe a bit old)

I Am Number Four (Lost Legacies Series) Pittacus Lore (also might be a bit old)
