I think the Frank Miller graphic novels are his finest work and I can't wait to see it. It's got a helluva cast too.

Looks amazing!

My partner is pretty psyched about it, but I'd never heard of it before. I certainly looks very intriguing and the graphics are very unique. I'm sure I'll pop along and see it on the big screen.

I am! The film technique looks pretty darn impressive. But if it's based on the first Sin City graphic novel, I don't know where all the extra characters are coming from...

It's gonna be based on Sin City, The Big Fat Kill, and That Yellow Bastard. Can't wait to see Jessica Alba as Nancy Callahan! :D

Me, very much - it looks amazing.

For those of you who don't know what we're on about, check out trailer #1 right here, and trailer #2 right here. (I just saw the second trailer for the first time, and god, does that look good!)

I love it when filmmakers try a completely different style, like in this film. It is because of this reason that I'm also looking forward to A Scanner Darkly, based on the P. K. Dick-story.

Cheers

wow. that looks awesome. i must say at first before the trailer really got going, i was like what the f**k has mickey rourke done to his face now!!! but actually it's an improvement. i've never seem the comic before, but the movie looks great.

So can we get sort of an idea what its about without spoiling the movie? I mean fans of the comic are going to know whats going on but if I went to see the thing I'd be sitting there just watching a movie. Any suggestions?

Plot summary according to IMDB (I don't think this spoils anything):

A collection of interweaving stories all based in the corrupt, crime infested hell-hole that is Basin City. Heavily influenced by film-noir, the main storylines concern a hulking brute called Marv (Mickey Rourke), who is seeking the murderer of a beautiful woman who was killed while asleep in bed with him; an ex-photographer called Dwight (Clive Owen) who accidentally kills a hero cop and has to cover it up; and a soon-to-be-retiring policeman called Hartigan (Bruce Willis) who is incarcerated for a crime he didn't commit. All based on the brilliant graphic novels "Sin City", "The Big Fat Kill" and "That Yellow Bastard", written and illustrated by Frank Miller.
Cheers

The comics are great and for once it looks like the movie will not be a dumbed down version. I'm really looking forward to it.

I've never seen anything from Frank Miller before, but I've seen a ton of trailers and I'm really looking forward to seeing this.

Saw it. I'd give it 3 outta 4 stars. They really brought the books to life. It's got some incredible eye candy, and not just Carla Gugino's breasts. I would say 95% of the dialogue and narration was taken straight from the books. If you love the books, you will love the movie.

seriously, I thought the special effects kicked ass. if I'm not mistaken, this was one of the first films shot completely in digital. I didn't think I'd like it at first, but robert rodriguez convinced me.

Check this out - it's a series of pictures from the comics compared with the exact same shot from the film. Some are exactly the same!

that's amazing!!! i'm actually looking still forward to it, just because nobody wants to see it. i never saw the "comics" or graphic novel, what they call it now, but all the trailers and the story look amazing, and i love terantino, and he has a guest scene in it, so... :)
does anybody know, on top of the head, how much the books cost?
