Anyone know anything about this book copy?

Hello,

I was wondering if anyone could share some insight on a particular copy of a book that I have in my possession.

The book is a paperback copy of "Animal Farm" by George Orwell. From the bit of research that I've done, I've learned that the first edition of the book was published in England in 1945. The original U.S. copy was released in 1946.

The only date in my book is 1946, but the price is listed as, "U.S. $4.95", which I think would indicate that it is a newer copy than that.

Apparently, the book has had many different covers over the years. I can't find much information on copies with the same cover as mine.

Can anyone offer me any insight? Does anyone know a way that I could find out where my book came from?

Yes, I did. I looked up the ISBN number which said it was printed in 1986. So much for my old roommate's theory that it was worth money!
