The Great Train Robbery by Michael Chriton (sp?)
I believe it's C-R-I-C-H-T-O-N.
That's a very good recommendation.

:blush:Thanks, I knew it was wrong, but I was too tired to really care.
I second the Richard Stark recommendation. Great series of books about a professional thief named Parker. Start with the first book The Hunter (aka Point Blank or Payback, the name changes are due to the two movies based on the book). The finest books in the series are in its original run from the 60s to the 70s. Westlake/Stark brought the character back in the 90s with Comeback, and has continued since then. Some of the earlier new books are great (e.g. Comeback, Backflash), while the more recent ones are just average (e.g. Breakout, Ask the Parrot).Look for Donald Westlake "what the worst that could happen",great and funny,"drown hope" is good to,less on classical robbery."Kahawa" the robbery of a coffe train in Rwanda. Most Westlake deal with the subjet.
He also write as Richard Starks.
