Do dogs dream?

One of my labs used to yelp occasionally, and twitch her paws while sleeping. We used to comment that she was on another one of her trips when the paws would start moving. Sometimes even a very low gutteral (spelling?) growl would escape while seemingly in very deep sleep. Her entire body would seem to react to something which would usually wake her up.

My pitbull does not seem to do this. Her sleep is much more peaceful and quiet.

I have a blue heeler (Australian Cattle Dog) named Jack. He is very intelligent, can learn to do anything but has had little in the way of training and discipline so he gets into trouble on occaision.

Yup, that sounds just like me!!!
