Bad Valentine's Poetry--or any bad poetry!

Here's something "angsty" for Stewart:

The Morning After

I awoke
My heart was broke.
Where did he go
My Romeo?

I thought we had a lot in common
How could I know that we were bombin'?
It wasn't real
He just wanted a feel.

Now left alone,
I cry.

Like a damp towel BUT
When I try to picture your exact face
In the eye/movie-screen of my mind
It comes in fuzzy and wavy
Like bad reception.
Love is blocking the signal
There is real electricity in the brain
I read it in the paper
So this is quite possible
Though hard to believe.

These two! yeah!

Heart-A-Valentine

Heart a fire
Heart a thumping
Heart a twitter
Heart a jumping

Heart a flubbing
Heart a flopping
Heart a ttack
Heart a stopping

Heartbreak Motel

Part 1

Alas, oh, alackaday
My Love has left
Gone far away
I am quite bereft

Part 2

Thought I would pine
From loveless blight
Will put off dyin'
Got a date tonight

Occlith, I did not find this bad at all. It may have something with my nationality and mother tongue, but still... My favorite part are the two last lines;
Heart a ttack
Heart a stopping :)

Hah! You ain't seen bad yet:

My val, he gone,
Val, val, ye gone,
Your mustard smile,
and tuna smell,
I think of you
and mushroom up!

Burning Roses

Filthy bruises covering the bravery of my spine,
A damp towel embracing the consciousness of my mind.

Anesthesia floating slowly into the muscles of my arms and feet,
Hammers knocking me to the ground the moment our eyes meet.

Heat crawling softly up my cheeks like roses set on fire,
Frightening of unreturned love making my throat feel even drier.

Explosion evocating in my solar plexus, stomach and chest,
Desire to crawl in under your blanket and practice love with you in a warm nest.

Wild flowers blooming in my lungs will never come out like words with the air,
Concrete hardening under my skin coz’ maybe you will never know how much I care.

Very bad, ladybird! I really feel how bad that is.

A contribution to the cause:

Why Not Give Me What I Want?

If you are my Valentine you will see
That you have certain obligations
Inalienable perturbations
To give me heart-shaped stuff
And be nice for at least 24 hours
Without complaining about burned food
Or how messy my car is, that is not my fault.
Or other things that might be legitimate complaints
On another day, like the dog hair on the stairs
Or that time I accidentally spilled soda on the computer.
We will get to that, all in good time.
So wake up and smell it, Valentine.

That's disgusting, ds. Well done!

What Men Do

S’truth, what roadkill yonder lies
In the road collecting flies?
A broken heart that got run over
By a mean and selfish lover.

Hark, what’s dead beside the road
A heart that beat but now is cold
Like a piece of liver before it’s cooked
I wish that I had never looked.

Yikes, what’s in the garbage can?
A heart discarded by a man
A girl would never do that thing
To a fellow human being.

Excrutiatingly, wonderfully bad, novella. You're an inspiration!

What Women Do

Hark, what soft and florid mess
Lays in the gutter so distressed?
An organ once attached
Removed by anger thus unmatched.

I'd like to see what you think of the one and only poem I've ever written. I wrote this in college when I couldn't figure out my stupid boyfriend.

I can't prove to you how I feel
I can't force you to believe I'm real
I can't always be by your side
I can't make you tell me the feelings you hide
I can't eliminate your doubts with my word
I can't describe how my heart flutters like a bird
I can't touch your heart with my hand
I can't find your feelings in a million grains of sand
I can't show you how I desire you in just one night
I can't promise you that everything will be alright
I can't predict how long our love will last
I can't give you everything, but I'd try if you asked

Luckily, the dork broke up with me and I eventually started dating my lovely hubby. :)

Oh sweetsymphony,
I hate to hurt your feelings, but that is just not bad enough. It is too sincere and heartfelt to qualify as painfully bad. :p

I'm sure you could do much worse!!

Bad Valentine's Poetry 2006

Yep, this thread's been bumped
Sorta like _______ who I dumped

Has it been a year already? My, how times flies . . . I hope last year's contributors will make a reappearance. Here's one I wrote today and posted over at the Palimp:

(apologies to Will Shaks.)

Shall I compare thee to a roasted ham?
Though are as salty, not as pink
Thy flesh is not as firm as gam'
Though quite as broad in beam methinks
Sometime too slick the sweat doth shine
Upon thy brow in dripping flow,
And ham is smooth, no wrinkled line
Like on thy glistening head doth show.
Yet well preserved is your meat,
Firm and moist with youthful dew
And surplus sure, more than complete.
In weight that roast is dwarfed by you.
My love aplattered, prone, doth lie
So for mine hunger yet to satisfy.
