Hi,
Please check out my book on the beach. It's intended to be a picture book for kids maybe 4-7 yrs old. Here it is below:
Sometimes the beach is sunny. Soft clouds glide through the bright blue sky. The ocean sparkles in the sun. Waves lightly splash against the seashore, washing the sand to and fro. Dry sand is warm and cozy, wet sand squishes between my toes! Palm trees shade us from the sun, and sometimes a gentle breeze brushes against my face.
People fill the beach, looking to relax and have fun. Some play volleyball, some surf, some lie on beach towels under umbrellas. They wear bathing suits, shorts, and sandals, sunhats too, and sun glasses.
Mom helps me put on my swimming gear and sun block so I can play in the ocean...barefoot!
Sometimes the beach is cloudy. The air is cool and misty. The sun hides in the thick white clouds, and sometimes it peeks out for a while. Ocean waves crash up against the rocks. Dry sand is cool now, wet sand is cold! The wind softly rustles the palm trees. Seagulls glide through the air gracefully.
Some people are out walking down the pier. Others ride bikes and skateboards. They wear light jackets and tennis shoes, windbreakers and caps. Sweats too.
My shadow looks faded and hard to find. "No swimming this time", says Mom, "we'll walk the pier today." I toss breadcrumbs to the seagulls. They 'swwop' down and gooble them up!
Sometimes the beach is stormy. Dark grey storm clouds cover the sky. The palm trees sway in the rushing wind. Raindrops fall from the clouds above and waves crash hard against the shore. All the sand is wet now.
Most people stay home today. Only a few go to the beach, like the weatherman on television. He wears a yellow raincoat, with a hood to cover his head!
Mom says the storm helps the plants to grow. It also cleans the air so it is cool and fresh. I look out the window and watch the rain pour. We will have to wait until the storm ends to play at the beach again.
Sometimes the beach is dreamy. The bright blue sky is now filled with color! Orange, pink, red, yellow, and dark blue. The clouds look dark against the sinking sun. A few boats sail, distant in the ocean. Long shadows extend from the palm trees. My shadow is taller than me! Everything seems to slow down now, it is dreamy!
Some people walk hand in hand along the beach. Others roast marshmellows on campfires and sing songs. They wear shorts, sandals, and Hawaiian shirts. Some people wear light jackets.
The tides are coming in now. I toss a beach ball far into the ocean. And the ocean waves push it right back to me! I am playing catch with the sea!
Sometimes the beach is starry. The bright white moon reflects on the ocean. The air is cool, and a crisp breez comes and goes. The stars above twinkle. Bright lights shine from the ampitheater, where bands play in concerts. The air is full of music.
People clap their hands and tap their feet. Some sway back and forth. They wear jackets and long pants, some have long sleeves and caps. The musicians smile with joy as they entertain the crowd. Sometimes there are even fireworks!
Mom brings us blankets and hot cocoa to keep us warm. We snuggle close and enjoy the tunes of the night.
At all times the beach is a really cool place. I have fun every time I come. But my favorite time to come to the beach is...when it is sunny! That is when I can play the most and have the most fun!
All feedback is welcomed! Thanks.
