best book title ever!

Spitting off Tall Buildings - Dan Fante. Come to think of it his
Chump Change is a great title too. Very good reads too.

Sorry to correct your French, but it's "les vrais durs ne dancent pas."

Trust me and my French obsession to notice.

As for my personal favorite title....I think I need to think about it a bit first.

Freaking French verbs. It's because it's more than one tough guy right?:whistling:

My favorite title: It's Greek and it translates to : Since you decided to grow up, you deserve what you get.

I like book titles that are names of women, they are short and can't be forgotten and they somehow make you feel the book has a name, not a title.I once made a contest with my friends, who could come up with the most women names which are book titles.
Emma, Tess d'Urberville, Madame Bovary, Anna Karenina.....you can add to the list:)

Two titles come to mind: the great Jane Eyre and Virginia Woolf's Mrs. Dalloway.

Me Talk Pretty One Day - David Sedaris

How I Lost 5 Pounds in 6 Years - Tom Arnold

Adios Sheherazade, by Donald Westlake.

Which is one of the funniest books I ever read, too (about a porn novelist with writer's block).

I must have read all of his stuff at least up the late 80s. The Stark stuff is something else (ever see Boorman's Point Blank Brilliant, beats the Mel Gibson remake hands down).

The Dortmunder series is hilarious. Then one looks at the stuff he wrote as Tucker Coe and wonders: this is the same guy?

I completely agree, he does have a lot going for him.

Adios Sheherazade used to be very hard to get (it took me over a year to find a copy, but then, those were early years in the internet).

Tom Robbins always had good titles, I just never really got the hang of the books. I haven't tried any of these two - are they very different from his earlier stuff?

"I Hope They Serve Beer in Hell" by Tucker Max

Also, an upcoming release (November):

"Assholes Finish First" by Tucker Max

Both are classic titles IMO.
