Best dark, potentially sexual and/or violent books?

Imagie a shiny black street echoing with screams of rape, where women dress like they do in Sin City, where seduction and violence are a way of life, BUT with real emotion and meaningful characters.

Now, for a more realistic request, if nothing fits the above criteria, how about just some well written seductive sexual book about teenagers or people in their young twenties that have really beautiful (yet deep), cleverly intricate, and just overall engaging female character(s)? And it's a plus (though not a requirement) if the book has something to say in addition to just being entertaining and engrossing.

Also, I saw this commercial for a book where there were a bunch of women who were dressed up very Victoria's Secret-eque and the book was the "the women of something" or the _____ women... i dont remember... anyone know what im talking about? And know if it's any good?

And I'm privy to that this post might offend some. I just want to reassure everyone that I'm completely against violence and the other awful things I mentioned in this post as criteria for something I'd like to read. I just like reading about some of the darker things; that's all.

Any ideas?

There's always the works by the Marquis de Sade if you want rape and violence.
 
Dont know about best, but the singer from the Swans (M.Gira) wrote a book called the Consumer. Its certainly very dark, sexual and violent.
Its a collection of short stories that probably first what you are looking for. To be extra depressed you should listen to their music while reading it.

I can think of 2 books.... SNUFF by Eric Enck and Adam Huber and PILATE by Steven Rage. Reviewed both of these books for my website. They are both wicked! :eek:
 
Much of Samuel Delany, but his best is definitely Dahlgren, which I read 3 times in my 20s. Haven't been back to it since but it was great stuff.

these are all dark and violent, but i think the OP of this thread was going for books entailing younger characters and more of a coming of age type theme to them.

also - there have been a lot of suggestions - would anyone who has read a lot of them care to comment on which they think is/are the best one/s?
