David Lodge has a fine sense of humour, his books, especially Changing Places, really make you smile.I also enjoyed Zadie Smith's humour, especially in White Teeth, the book made me laugh and read some passages aloud to my friends.
i read david lodge once, a book called "thinks..." , after reading somewhere that he is considered among uk's greatest modern writers along with martin amis. it was one of those books that you plough through in a single sitting and then toss aside and forget all about. it wasnt funny or anything , just a hollywood style candy floss romance.that pretty much put me off david lodge for good.
maybe i just picked one of his mediocre works.i guess i'll give him another shot now.
